Founded in 1234, in a territory inhabited since prehistoric times and then by Umbrian, Etruscans, Celts, Romans, Pergola is an art heritage city.

The historical city centre offers numerous architectural evidence, typical of medieval times, with its stone buildings, tower houses, pointed portals  and sculptures, as well as many and remarkable religious buildings, testifying the importance the city once bore.

A must is a visit to the “Museo dei Bronzi Dorati e della Città di Pergola”.
